Things to Do in Lake Placid

Centered in the heart of the High Peaks region, Lake Placid has always had spectacular scenery. But after hosting the 1980 Olympics, it captured the heart of America as well. A stroll down charming Main Street with its shops and restaurants is a must, but there’s much more.

Spring, summer, and fall activities abound. You don’t need snow to ride the Cloudsplitter on Whiteface Mountain, the most scenic gondola in North America. Visit the Olympic Ski Jumping Complex, where the U.S freestyle aerial team trains in front of summer crowds. Careen down an outdoor Olympic bobsled run. Skate on 1980’s “Miracle on Ice.” Just a few ideas for you!
